Prevent crystals in AdBlue systems

Forté’s new ‘Exhaust Crystal Preventer’ helps prevent breakdowns due to blockages caused by crystallisation.

Forté has launched a new ‘crystal preventing solution’ to help reduce breakdowns relating to crystal formation in modern exhaust systems.

Many of today’s modern diesel vehicles are manufactured with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, which uses AdBlue, the most recognised form of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), to reduce harmful gases being released into the atmosphere.

Vehicles fitted with SCR technology have a separate tank filled with AdBlue, which is injected into the exhaust pipe by a dedicated AdBlue injector.

A known issue with the SCR system can occur when the exhaust gas temperatures are low. Crystals form in the AdBlue tank, level sensor, fluid pump, AdBlue injector and exhaust system, including the mixer and the SCR catalyst, due to driving styles, conditions, and incomplete combustion.

Forté’s new Exhaust Crystal Preventer is a one-shot solution poured directly into the AdBlue tank, which dissolves crystals formed in the tank, which affects the level sensor and fluid pump function.

It is recommended to add one bottle of Forté Exhaust Crystal Preventer to the AdBlue tank at every service or every time the AdBlue is topped up.

The new product offers workshops an easy-to-use solution to maintain the SCR system and prevent the build-up of crystals.
